TurboStart
Using the Sound Palette
You can use the XP-30�s Palette sliders to create sound variations or volume changes in realtime. This is useful for quickly creating new sounds without having to access edit menus. Use the following procedure to use the Palette sliders: 1. Press PATCH so it�s lit. 2. Select the desired patch as described earlier. 3. Press FILTER/ENV to access CUTOFF, RESO, ATTACK and DECAY. 4. Play the keyboard and move the sliders to change the sound.

Using the Arpeggiator
The XP-30 features the arpeggiator from the XP-60/80. It allows you to hold down a chord and play one of 33 arpeggio patterns. Use the following procedure to select a synth bass patch and a slap bass arpeggiator pattern: 1. Press PATCH so it�s lit. 2. Press ARPEGGIATOR so it�s lit. 3. Hold CATEGORY and press BASS. 4. CURSOR RIGHT to select SBS, and then press ENTER. 5. Turn the VALUE dial left to display �Tech NoBase.� 6. Press SYSTEM, then press EDIT so it�s lit. 7. Press 2/10 to select the ARPEGGIO edit page. 8. Turn the VALUE dial to select SLAP BASS B. 9. Cursor down to select MOTIF. 10. Turn the VALUE dial to select TOP+UP 5. 11. Hold down a chord on the keyboard to listen to the selected arpeggio pattern. 12. Press ARPEGGIATOR so it�s not lit. 13. Press EXIT to return to Play mode.
